How to make a turnaround in times of economic uncertainty

CFO’s play a key role in driving financial performance as well as shaping strategic direction for their organizations. During challenging times, it is essential for finance to be well-oriented in best practices for turning around a struggling business, especially in time of economic uncertainty. At this roundtable we aim to enable finance leaders to learn from each other’s experiences by setting the tone for the day with a turn-around case from Multiconsult followed by a group discussion, deep diving into the topic.

Multiconsult went through a period of reduced profitability until 2019. A new management was given a clear responsibility and mandate to perform a turn around. The “Next Level” programme was created and carried out in the period autumn 2019 to spring 2021. The program contributed, through cost reductions and operational improvements, to over 150 million in annual profitability improvements. This paved the way for Multiconsult to be positioned in the upper tier for profitability, looking at the industry benchmark in Scandinavia.
